![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll138/livejournalet/CHANNING%20TATUM/300%20x%20350/007.png) ![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll138/livejournalet/text/text017.png) It had been two weeks since Shane had first met Jennifer in person, though he had been calling her up a lot and making sure she was ok not seeing her was killing him, but his college work was getting to him and that meant he actually had to spend his evenings working on college stuff and when he was not doing that he was fighting. After his last fight which was two days ago he called Jennifer up after it and spoke to her the whole way home instead of going to the club with Harris and the other boys, he just wandered the streets talking to Jennifer on the phone until it was the early hours of the morning. They just talked about her work and dancing, a lot of the time it was about her with Shane getting in the occasional flirt reminding her who was the one to insist on kissing and so forth. Today was going to be busy as he tried to dance every evening either on the streets where no one could find him or if the dance studio was free, he walked down the corridor as he held his back pack up on his shoulders one hand holding the strap and the other searching through the bag for his hat that his teacher insisted he put away during his last class. He placed the cap back on his head as he bumped into Evangelina in the hallway, he grinned and they talk for a little while, it was the end of the college day and now he was heading to the dance studio to clock in some new moves while he had them on his mind.
As he said goodbye to an old friend he wandered down the hallway under opening the double doors to lead into the large dance studio they had. He grinned softly as he smelt the clean air, or at least what he called clean. He threw his bag in the corner, dug his hand into his pocket and drew out his phone, there were no texts or missed calls as he tossed that towards his bag too and headed over to the decks to put some music on. Turning up the sound to T-pain – Church he grinned feeling the beat already taking over his whole being. He moved over in front of the mirrors and begun moving slightly to the music. He then started to break down in a hip hop routine he had been working on for a long time, steps that even he was finding hard to master but every time he came here and did them over and over they seemed to get better. As he glided across the dance floor he had a smile plastered upon his lips the whole time, dancing was who he was but no one knew that and he was lucky to not have many people find out, as he had the music loud and this room was open to anyone and everyone. He had seen Jennifer in here a couple of days back, which he had yet to tell her but he watched her routine and the freshmen fucking it all up for her, it was the lifts that they had the most problem with and he knew he could do it, but he was kind of scared too let people know about it.

- - - - - - - - - - It’s been two weeks since she last saw him. Two weeks, three days, six hours, seven minutes, four seconds… five… six… seven… eight. Two weeks, three days, six hours, seven minutes and nine seconds since she last looked in to those hazel eyes. Two weeks, three days, six hours, seven minutes and eleven seconds since she heard that soft voice of his in person. Two weeks, three days, six hours, seven minutes and fifteen seconds since she last saw that intoxicating smile of his. And it felt like eternity since she last felt his lips against hers and his soft touch on her hips and hands. Sure, Jennifer wasn’t dating him. But she sure as hell wished she was. She wished she could just spend every day with him, but college and work was taking a toll on her and college really seemed to be keeping him from visiting her. Her dance teacher was pushing Jennifer to the limits, making her jump high and practice lifts with weak freshmen that would barely lift a pen, and yet he expected them to be able to pick Jennifer up. She had twisted her ankle because one of them, but she continued dancing until it got better. Her elbows, knees and other parts of her body had been bruised because of the freshmen dropping her so much. She finally had had enough of it yesterday, and just thanked them all and let them leave her alone for a while. She was beginning to lose hope of ever finding a partner.
There was one guy she had in mind, and he attended the college too. The only problem was, well, was that he just didn’t let on that he had any dancing experience at all. Jeni was top of her class, and even if the guy did dance, he wouldn’t have the experience she did and so the teacher would never approve. Now, who was this guy? Shane, Shane Grey. The same guy that Jeni hadn’t seen in person in about two and a half weeks and talked on the phone with until hours were well past over. Yeah, Shane. The same guy that had defended Jennifer and kissed her and everything. She was intoxicated by him, and he was causing her thoughts to be jumbled and her speech messed up and confusing. She hadn’t been able to even focus completely on her routine without him invading her thoughts and leaving her completely frazzled and not sure what to do. It was beginning to frustrate her dance teacher too. He wanted Jeni to be top of the class until she graduated; he wanted her to succeed, but this guy. He was getting in Jennifer’s head and messing with her thoughts, causing her to forget parts of her routine and the teacher was getting frustrated. It was why he told Jennifer she need not have a boyfriend right now, because it would completely mess up what she had learned from dancing. She just couldn’t seem to get her head on straight.
She looked at her teacher that had called her in to his office, and she bit down on her lip. Jeni, we need to talk. her teacher said in a rough and agitated voice. She nodded her head, standing in front of his desk and putting her hands together. Jennifer, you need to get your head on straight. This guy – you just don’t have time for a relationship right now Jeni. I want you to succeed, I want you to remain top of your class until graduation. But you can’t do that if you have some guy on you’re mind and interrupting your life. he told her, looking up at her and waiting for her response. Jennifer told there, wearing a pink tank top and a loose shirt that came down mid thigh. He’s not a distraction. It’s just – it’s my fault. I haven’t been thinking and I haven’t been focusing on my routine. It’s not him. she told him, and he let out a sigh. Jennifer, we have discussed this. You don’t have time for a relationship right now. Especially with some guy you just met. he said. Her jaw dropped slightly, holding her hands out to the side. He’s not some guy I just met! We’re friends! I can have a relationship with someone and still dance, Jason! she said to him, obviously upset. Jason’s brow furrowed, and he stood up, putting his hands firmly on the table. Jennifer, you heard me. I don’t want you seeing this guy. he said to her.
Jennifer frowned, shaking her head. I can see him all I want! she said. He growled at her lightly, narrowing his eyes. Jennifer, listen to what you are saying! Do you want to give up all you have worked toward for some guy that you just met? he said, and Jennifer crossed her arms. He’s not a problem. she growled. Jason shook his head, looking at her. Obviously he is, because you didn’t start having such an attitude and disagreeing with me about everything until he came along. You never missed a beat or messed up either until he came along. If you continue to see him, he’s going to fuck up you’re life. I don’t want you talking to him. he growled. Jennifer leaned over, putting her knuckles down on his desk and leaning close to his face. Watch me. she growled, and with that turned around and slammed the door shut.
Her teacher was being such a dick, and it was beginning to piss Jennifer off. She grabbed her bag as she walked out in slung it over her shoulders, shaking her head and walking toward the dance studio. She heard music coming from it, and her eyebrows scrunched together as she peered through the window in the door, and a look of pure shock crossed over her face. It was Shane, and he was dancing. She hesitated a moment before quietly pushing one door open, closing it quietly and setting her purse down. She turned her phone to vibrate, then walked quietly over to him. She stood there for a second before smiling, waiting for him to turn around and see her. Finally, she figured she might as well speak and not just scare him like that. Since when did you dance, huh? she asked over the loud music, crossing her arms over her chest with a smirk. She wasn’t exactly surprised, since most guys danced but didn’t tell, but she was just shocked with how good he was at it.

![](http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll138/livejournalet/CHANNING%20TATUM/300%20x%20350/007.png) So only two days ago he had been standing in a large open room, surrounded by people shouting and cheering for the couple of guys to beat the hell out of each other, but Shane had a lot more on his mind than fighting, he thought about Jennifer and the way she looked at him, it was different from any other girl he had been with before, she looked at him like she cared for him, there was a softness in her eyes that made his heart melt. As he thought about her the larger man took a left hook to his jaw sending him onto the floor, sliding across he shook his head, damn he needed to get her out of her mind. Standing he got back into a stance where he was ready for anything to be fired at him, then she just seemed to slip into his mind again, just the way she walked by his table only seconds before he first spoke to her in person. Then as he just got rid of the thought he saw the guy raise his hand, but just in time he ducked and rammed his body into the open stomach of the other guy sending both of the onto the floor, punching him continuously as they switched positions on the ground he finally knocked the guy out and stood up, receiving his money and Harris took him by the shoulder and led him out of the room, him bewildered and confused about what just really happened. That was when he knew he needed to call her and just wandered off from the rest of the group and phoned her, telling her about his day, listening about her day, just listening to her angelic voice for a couple of hours, sitting on park benches just happy to listen to her voice.
Shane never told anyone he danced not because he was ashamed of it, more because he didn’t want people to judge him, he was a fighter, and he was known to be a big man. What would they say if he said he wanted to dance, not fight? They would kill him, within him and in his life. So that was why he made sure no one was around when he entered the dance studio, not even in the small changing rooms. He needed this secret to make him feel better; no one could take dance away from him, no one. As he moved across the dance floor, working on some steps and changes he sighed and stopped for a moment, taking a deep breathe. Taking the cap off his head and threw it across the room before shaking himself off and begun again. People would call him good but he just said it was a hobby, yes you could be good at a hobby but it didn’t matter if you weren’t because you loved it anyway. Like people who could not sing a note, they still did it because they love music and so they should. He didn’t realize that Jennifer had entered the room and honestly he didn’t care as he messed up a step and cursed out loud before turning round and she was standing there. Before he was able to say anything she asked him about his dancing. He smiled a little before scratching the back of his skull and looked at her Since seven years ago, just no body knows so sh he said placing his finger on her lip, those prefect lips.
As he stood in front of her he couldn’t help but smile, but something in the back of his mind was telling him ‘kiss her, hold her, be with her, go on man you know you want it’ but his heart was telling him since she had been through a lot he should not push her into anything she didn’t want to do. So he stood there, sticking his hands in his pocket he looked round the room, making sure no one else had entered when she did. So you said you needed a guy for lifts? I think I can do it, I mean if you want me too he said as he tilted his head to the dance floor to hint about her routine, he knew a couple of steps but he missed most of because he was peering through a window and the freshmen messed it up a lot of the time, which meant them skipping the lift parts at times.

- - - - - - - - - - Shane, damn that boy. He was just so intoxicating it was not even funny anymore. Jennifer sometimes felt like she was in a fairytale when she talked to him, Cinderella in the ball gown talking to her prince charming. For hours she would just lay in her bed, listening to his voice as he spoke about his day. And when she told him she was dead tired and she needed to go, or that he needed to go because he needed sleep, she would slide under the covers and lay there, just thinking about how maybe, possibly one day her and Shane would be together. His arms wrapped around her snuggly but comfortably as she slept, and then wake the next morning to find herself cuddled against his strong chest. That was all she dreamt about at night. She dreamed about being in his arms, lying on the couch and just talking about their day and their dreams, what they wanted to do together one day. His warm breath in her ear and strong arms wrapped around her upper torso, holding her gently against his chest. Her brown hair lying over her shoulders, a warm glow in her eyes that she only had around him. That was what she dreamt about at night now that she was always in her mind, and a part of her life. Instead of the nightmares she dreamt about before him of being beaten and abused until she woke up sweating, screaming and in tears she dreamt of him and her, just together and nothing in the world was wrong. Talk about a fairytale.
They had only really known each other for about two weeks or so, and already Jennifer felt like he was the best thing that had ever happened to her. Did she love him? That was a complicated subject. Love was such an overused word now days and half the time people never really meant what they said when they told someone they loved them and wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other. They normally meant “I’ll spend my life with you as long as you don’t annoy me, cause if you do then its over” not “I’ll spend forever with you, even through the good and bad parts of the relationship I’ll be there for you”. Jeni truly believed that love did exist, and by love existing she meant the real definition of love. To promise to be there for someone no matter what, even if they were bad at kissing or had a terrible attitude or weren’t the cutest people. Not to just stay with someone as long as they didn’t piss you the fuck off. Besides, Jeni knew that you had to work for what you wanted. You couldn’t just walk up and say “hey babe, I love you” and immediately you live happily ever after. No – it just didn’t work like that. If you wanted something bad enough you needed to work for it and Jennifer was willing to do whatever it took to win Shane’s heart.
Jennifer didn’t dance just because she had nothing better to do – she danced because she had a passion for it, because it was something she loved. Sure, maybe she wasn’t the best dancer in the entire world. She had been dancing for fourteen years, and even after that long she was still learning. But, with that being said, she knew more about dancing after fourteen years then people could learn in their entire life time. She had worked so hard to get to where she had today. She spent hours and hours each day in the gym, in her room, in the living room practicing dancing. Practicing the art of dance, learning each move she would ever need to know, spent hours on the computer doing research, and still she worked extremely hard to get to where she had today. She hadn’t ever had the largest amount of money or the best support from her parents. Her father didn’t approve of dancing because it was for pansies, and he claimed he didn’t raise his daughter to be a wimp and dance. Her mother found that dancing was just a waste of time and instead knew that her daughter needed to focus on more important things like education. She constantly questioned her daughter “what are you going to do if you break your ankle?” or “what are you going to do if dancing just doesn’t work out” but Jennifer always had the answers for those. And even though her mother constantly wanted to argue with her about it, she kept the same answer each time and left it at that. She always answered with “if I break my ankle I’ll take my money I worked hard to put in savings to take care of me until I am better” and also answered with “dancing is just going to work out. Whether you like it or not” and left it at that.
She held back a giggle as he skipped a beat and cursed under his breath, then just smiled as he turned around and saw her. Since seven years ago, just no body knows so sh he answered her questioned and pressed his finger against her lips. She went cross eyed looking at it for a second before giggling and acting as if she was going to bite it. Stick the finger close to my mouth again and I’ll bite it. she said playfully, smiling at him. They stood in silence for a second and Shane pushed his hands in to his pockets, then spoke once more. He talked about her lifts, and that he could do it if she wanted him to. She smiled, stepping forward and wrapping her arms around his neck gently. Of course I want you to do the lifts. she said, smiling at him gently before backing up. When she stepped back, her jaw dropped. Shane! Have you been spying on me? she asked, crossing her arms lightly. She just shook her head, and walked towards the center of the dance studio.
She thought of the music and beats in her head, and immediately her body began moving. Her feet moved across the floor, her hips moving. Her moves were so smooth, so graceful that it was almost perfect. She spun twice before landing in front of Shane, smiling up at him and putting her arms on his shoulders. And after I spin twice, I’ll need someone to lift me in the air. And I’ll have to teach you the rest after that, since I never got to it because of the freshmen. she spoke to him, stepping close to him and smiling gently. Something inside of her was screaming kiss him, to kiss him and not hold back. But she just couldn’t. She couldn’t rush anything, no she couldn’t. She liked him too much to do that. She was scared to rush anything in fear of losing him, and she couldn’t lose him. No, not now. Not ever.
