Evangelina was on duty for the night. An RA was a resident assistant. In other words, she was babysitting her hall tonight. The students were pretty good when it came to the rules. No drinking, no smoking, no loud music. She only had to write up one person in her year of being an RA. That was a smart ass who thought he could chug a bottle in front of Eva and think she wouldn't write him up. She tries to be a cool RA, but at the same time do her job and make sure the kids knew she wasn't a push over. It was pretty fun for her. And the kids in her hall liked her because she was friendly and wasn't so uptight. She would talk to them and hang out. The night duty was pretty boring to Evangelina though. The kids didn't do anything, so she could just leave and go do whatever. But, she wouldn't feel right if she did.
She dressed as if she was going to the mall, or going to a friend's house. She wasn't really trying to look for a guy. Just do her job, and maybe get off early. She wanted to go plop down in her bed and watch Real World. But instead, she was walking out into the hall. A few students' doors were open. She poked her head in just to say hey. She came to the first door. "Heyy, Suzie! I'm on duty tonight. What's up?" She leaned against the doorframe as she chatted with Suzie. Then, another RA came walking down the hall. Eva greeted her. Turns out, they were both watching a hall on the same floor. They could stand at a corner and be able to look down both their halls. That's what Eva and RA friend Jazzmyn planned to do. She said bye to Suzie then walked down the hall. Jazzmyn's hall was noisier than Eva's hall. She was glad she got stuck with all the nerds tonight.
Turned out Jazzmyn was filling in for someone quickly because they were running late doing whatever. It was a little disappointing because Jazzmyn was hilarious, but Lina wouldn't pout over it. She just chatted and glanced down her hallway every once in a while. She would see a familiar face and wave, or maybe refer to some joke they had a couple days back. She was telling Jazzmyn a story when she heard something crash. She quickly turned to her hall, the source of the sound. She told Jazzmyn to hold on. She poked her head in every open door asking where that came from. Finally, they located where the crash had come from. Someone knocked their lamp down. Glass was everywhere. "Alright. Think you can clean that up or should I call someone? Gotta broom and stuff?" Evangelina asked. The student said they'd clean it themselves.
With that, Eva headed back down towards Jazzmyn. "It was just a lamp!" She called to her. Then, another disturbance made her stop in her tracks. Really loud music. Ok, someone was just asking to get written up. Lina walked down to a door and banged on it so they could hear her knocking over the music. She crossed her arms as she waited for someone to answer. Finally a boy did. He knew exactly what she was going to say. He turned it down so she could speak. "Tom, seriously? You know the rules. Keep it down, alright? Not everyone likes that shit you call music!" She said joking. She actually liked his music taste, but that didn't mean he could blare it. "I won't write you up this time, but next time? You can bet on it." She told him, this time serious. Alright, thanks Eva. You rock. Tom had said. She just smirked and rolled her eyes. Evangelina continued to walk down the hall towards Jazzmyn. She just shook her head. Well, that was probably the most excitement she would get all night.

Brooklyn in New York that was where Shane Alexander Grey was born, his mother was a good person, she just got caught up in the wrong crowd for a little while, when her dream of becoming a model was crushed she went into the drug business thanks to Shane’s father Alan Grey, he was a good business man and said that she could have a wealthy life with him of course that was not the case, he got her pregnant within three months of knowing her, they married because of the baby and they were now the newest thing to kill on the rough streets of Brooklyn, as the mafia leader of Brooklyn’s gangs Alan was wanted dead nearly every single day. When Shane was seven years old his mother was killed right in front of him, his younger sister was only six and they were just out like a normal family without their father but not having him round was normal for the family, they were jumped by an enemy gang and his mother was shot on sight. Shane was lucky though he took his sister by the hand and ran, before the other people could grab them, it was a good thing to be small at that age. They ran all the way home to tell there dad and of course he was furious and hit Shane across the face for not standing up for his mother, he was seven years old but in the heat of the moment Shane just let it go.
Over the last twelve years he had been moving from place to place a lot, but always seemed to end up going home back to his father and his sister. Then finally when he finished high school he found a great college in Los Angeles and knew that was were he wanted to be, his sister was married and had a baby on the way and he didn’t want to be in the way anymore by sleeping on their couch, he didn’t get on with his father and didn’t want to get on with him. He got into fights all the time and was always in trouble so he wanted to give himself a boost in life and actually go and do something. So he packed and left, with as much money as he could get together thanks to getting into the family home and stealing a lot from his father, he earned it anyway for the fights he got into for his dad and the drugs he transferred to different gangs. But when he got to LA he thought it was all going to change, he was going to become a different person and be a better man because no one knew him and that was good. College was fun, he liked it a lot he was doing sports but mainly focusing on teaching it and playing basketball but there was also another passion he had, dancing. But no one knew about it, he just walked into the dance studio after basketball practice and would dance for another hour or so just to cool down and relax. He wanted to be a dancer but he knew that he couldn’t his father would never allow it and he would find out, he just knew it so he kept it to himself.
Shane was just relaxing in his room; he had only just come in from a fight and snuck in my climbing up the drainpipe to his room on the second floor. It was a horrible thing to have to do but Eva was on duty tonight and he couldn’t have a good friend of his writing him up. As he slipped through the open window he sighed gently as he regained his feet, still a little dizzy from having someone punching his head only half an hour ago. He stumbled over to the mirror and looked at himself in the mirror; there was a large cut on his nose from the guys ring and swelling around his eyes. He sighed and brushed his hand across his cuts before wincing at the pain. He ran himself some hot water and washed his face to clear him of the sweat and blood that was on his face and hands. Taking off his top he heard his next door neighbour Tom getting told off by Eva before he moved to the door and opened it to see her just walking away. Hey scrawny butt, do I not get a telling off tonight? he grinned as he leaned out of the door to talk to her, topless but still holding the bloody white tank top in his hand as he looked at her waiting for her to come to him. Can you spare five minutes to talk to the hottest, coolest guy on the floor? he grinned as he let her in, his room was always clean as he was just that kind of person that liked everything to be in it’s place.

Evangelina has lived in Sacramento her whole life. The first eighteen years of her life took place there. The good times, the bad, and everything in between. But these last two took place in LA. And they have been a pretty good two years, minus the whole drama she had with her long time boyfriend cheating on her for a whole year. She had some pretty good friends out here. And although most of her life took place in Sacramento, she wouldn't mind living out here in LA. The rest of Eva's family was in Sacramento. Her parents, her sister whom she was extremely close with. Everything was up there, but she was still drawn to LA. People think that LA is only a place for the rich and famous. But it isn't. There's normal people, like Eva, who live out here too. Even though she just wanted to become a school teacher, she liked how there were opportunities out here. Sacramento would always be Lina's hometown, but LA was where she wanted to be.
She remembered the first day she met Shane. He was new to LA and didn't know his way around. Being the friendly girl she was, Eva helped him out. She showed him around the city and gave him a tour of the campus, although he would get one anyways. Little did she know they would become pretty good friends. Finding out that he was going to LAU too was pretty cool. But then to find out that they were in the same dorm? That was too ironic. But she was excited to hear it. She had RA training in the beginning of August, but now school had started up again. Now she was officially an RA. Pretty good at it, too. Not too strict, but not too laid back. Shane seemed to get used to things quickly, which was good. Not to mention, a nice friend to Lina. He seemed pretty trustworthy too, and that was hard to gain from her after her boyfriend from a couple years back. But Shane did it. Kudos to him.
Evangelina turned her head when she heard someone speak out. Scrawny butt. It was Shane. "Maybe you do, muscle-head." She said back with a little smile. Nice comeback, Eva. She walked towards him. "Hottest, coolest guy on the floor, huh? Someone's a little full of themselves." She said, sliding past him and into his room. She looked around, it was spotless as usual. "I admire you for keeping this place as clean as you do. You should come clean my room!" She said to him, chuckling. Eva knew her room wasn't this clean. The sheets on her bed were dragging on the ground, clothes were everywhere. It was a disaster area. Eva plopped down on his bed and looked at him. He had a nice body, she had to admit. Pretty yummy. She then noticed the shirt in his hand. It was bloody. "So, what happened now?" She asked, looking at the shirt, than him. She noticed the fresh cut on his nose too. She looked around the room. Didn't look like he had done anything in here to get the gash on his nose. He had some explaining to do.

Shane remembered meeting Lina very clearly, she was very good student and very easy to talk too when you didn’t know anyone else, he didn’t try anything on with her when he first met her, he was too insecure about the area that he was not about to go head first into the pool and think he was going to come up, so he was kind of laid back when he first arrived, just trying to stay out of people’s way and get used to the area. But when he met Lina everything kind of changed, she introduced him to the main areas of the college, making sure that she knew what he was coming here for showing him the different sport areas and the classrooms he would be in and so forth. It was all kind of overwhelming and then before he knew it, he was living in the same dorm as her, it was mainly because he didn’t have enough money to pay for a small apartment for himself so he just got a room at the college instead, it also meant he had an extra ten minutes in bed compared to people that had to walk and drive into college. Lina was an RA, he didn’t mind her being one seeing as he got away with a lot of things, the times he would sneak in at some stupid hour and she would be waiting for him, she would of course give him a bit of a slap on the back of the head but that would be it, he did push it sometimes but he was a nineteen year old male, what did you really expect from him?
He was now very good friends with Lina and they got on very well, he saw her as a good friend and not anything more which was odd for him he was so used to only seeing girls as a shag or like a sister figure to him that having someone who was in the middle felt weird in the beginning but they flirted a little, but it was all in a playful manner. Shane was good at fitting in quickly, he settled into the dorms easily but it kind of helped that he wasn’t there a lot of the time, he was always out doing his own thing and only normally came back to sleep and go to college, and the occasional girl came over for a little play time with Shane. Shane was very protective of Lina he heard about her boyfriend and he wanted to make sure he was there for her whenever she needed him, if it was for a broken heart or just a broken arm; he wanted to be there for her. Shane was enjoying college, it was a lot of fun and there was a lot he could do to keep his mind of things, he spent a lot of the time in the gym or in the dance studio, no one knew that he danced as he always made sure he closed the doors and checked the times for when people were coming in and out. And he always had some sort of sport equipment with him so when someone did come in he would just pick it up and be all like; do you know where the gym is please? He was still able to get away with that as he wasn’t that used to the place yet.
As he leaned on the door and shouted for Evangelina he grinned lightly to see her reaction when she turned round to see him leaning on the door frame. That was their nicknames for each other, he was muscle-head and she was scrawny butt it was a funny joke they had with each other once and just seemed to keep them and say them whenever it was the right moment. He laughed when she said he was a little full of himself, though he was living on the nerd floor and most of the guys looked like they should be living with their parents still instead of being here, most of them were too good for their own good as well. Then she slid past him into his room before making herself comfortable on his bed he grinned and shut the door behind her and made him way into the room watching her. Then she said he should come and clean her room as his was always clean. I’d rather not, I don’t really want to know what I would find in there he joked with a small laugh on the end of the sentence before looking into the mirror again and looked at his nose again as pain was beginning to settle. He wandered over to his drawers and opened them up, revealing a bunch of t-shirt and tops he had, taking a plain white one he slipped it over his head and threw the bloody one in the washing basket he got before Eva questioned him on the bloody tank top. He looked at her before looking away trying to make it less obvious. I got into a fight on the way home, no biggie he spoke before readjusting his top and placing his jacket back in the wardrobe, he was a clean freak after all.

"Oh, you know damn well you wouldn't find anything!" Eva said, defending herself. She was smirking though, she knew Shane was kidding. "It just wouldn't be as squeaky clean as your room." She added. "Who taught you how to be so clean?" She said, looking at him. Eva's parents would always yell at her for her messy room. After getting yelled at 50 consecutive times, she would have it spotless. But now that there was absolutely no one to yell at her for it, she cleaned it about once a month. And then, it would just get dirty again the next day. Not Shane though. He cleaned up as he went. Instead of throwing his jacket down like Lina would, he put it away. Evangelina ought to start doing that. She just threw her clothes around like it was nothing. And it really wasn't to her. She had places to go, people to see! Not that that was an excuse, since Shane did too but still kept his room immaculate.
Evangelina hated violence. Not that she hadn't gotten into a few scraps herself, but she still hated it. She even had a cute shirt that said "Make love, not war!". She stood by that one."No biggie? Who was it? Were you alone? Where did this happen? Why?" The words flew out of her mouth like bullets. Yes, she was having a mini panic attack. But it was only because she cared. She noticed she was probably sounding like some mother, so she calmed down. He did seem like he was alright. It wasn't like he was limping or about to pass out. But they were both always there for each other. This was Evangelina being there for him. "Sorry." She said, a little embarrassed. Eva couldn't help but grin as she said, "Did you win?" Yeah, she didn't like fights, but she would at least like to know that Shane won. He had plenty of muscle so she wouldn't be surprised if he had. After all, he was muscle-head. Eva wished she had muscle. Obviously not so she looked manly, but enough. Then again, there would be no point in calling her scrawny butt.
Evangelina let out a sigh. "So, how are things?" She asked, making random conversation. She figured she could hang out in here for a little while. It wasn't like anything was going to happen. And if anything did, she would hear it. This was a good floor anyways. Nothing serious happened. Shane was so out of place. Eva was too. They weren't nerds, they knew how to have a good time and had social lives. They had better things to do than study and play games on the internet. Speaking of internet, she had to check her Facebook. She hadn't in a couple of days, being so busy and all. "You going out tonight?" Eva asked looking out his window. Then, she looked back at him. It was still early enough to go out to a party on campus or something. She couldn't go out because she was on duty. Stupid RA duty. It sucked at times. She would miss parties, and her paycheck wasn't all that great. She definitely had to start that job over at Revolution. Nate said he could get her a job there, so that would definitely help her out financially. And she would be able to see him more. Definitely a plus.

He smiled when she said that there was nothing to find in her room before he looked over and just laughed at her, he would be lucky to come out of her room alive a lot of the time, clothes everywhere and he didn’t want to find out which underwear was clean and what wasn’t. Eva and Shane were like brother and sister and stuff like that just freaked him out a little, he was so clean that knowing dirty underwear could be on the floor just made him shiver inside. When she asked about who taught him to be clean he kind of went silent for a moment, thinking of what really did make him clean. Then he reminded himself of the times he would sit in his room and he was bored as he was not spoilt and didn’t have a games console or a television and he would clean his room and organize his things to keep himself entertained a lot of the time, so I guess he kind of taught himself to be clean. Also people liked coming into his room when he was clean so he kind of enjoyed the attention. I kind of taught myself really, I got bored a lot. So I cleaned, I know I was a sad child he laughed lightly as he looked over at her.
Shane lived in a world made by violence, but it was not like he could turn round and say it wasn’t his fault because half of the time it really was his fault. His nose was spilt open but had been cleaned well since he was at the Black Swan only a couple of hours ago seeing Jennifer. Damn. Jennifer, that words made him shiver slightly as he thought about her, he fought because of some guys that were hitting on her, and of course though he won he still got hurt as most people did unless they were superman. When she started flying questions at him he looked over at smiled as she seemed very concerned for his health. He laughed then and looked at her, trying to stop laughing but she looked so weird lying on his bed just asking random questions to him. It was at the Black Swan, some guys were being dicks to this girl so I helped her out, got a busted nose for it though. But at the same time she kissed me, so all good. he laughed before sitting down on the bed with her, now looking a lot better seeing as the bloody tank top was not working for him when he was walking home. She asked if he won and he laughed again, she was so random he had to laugh. I did actually, but they were drunk so I guess it was not fair he spoke, he was not big headed sometimes and didn’t mind admitting to losing a fight every once in a while.
He leaned back on his bed and the cushioning felt soothing on his aching bones before he placed his hand behind his head and looked up at Evangelina and smiled softly at her when she asked how things with him were. He wanted to tell her everything, meeting Jennifer and kissing her, but part of him didn’t as she did go to this university with both Eva and Shane and she might know her, what she is like and stuff, also he just wanted to live in the moment with Jen for a moment, that kiss was still tingling his lips softly and it was amazing. Good actually, better than normal honestly. Just need to work at bit harder here, but my social life is good, what about you scrawny buttocks? he said as he looked over at her. Then she asked about him going out tonight he looked round for a moment and then shook his head in a hint saying that eh wasn’t going anywhere with this nose, he was just going to have a long shower and curl up in bed and sleep it off, he was still in a weird kind of place, going from pissed off at the guys to happy with Jennifer, then loved by her touch and kiss, to leaving her and feeling so different to ever before.

The word bored didn't come out of Evangelina's mouth too often as a kid. Her parents pretty much let her do whatever she wanted. She would say she was going to a friend's house and end up going to a party. They rarely found out, but if they did, they grounded her for two days then forgot it ever happened. It was pretty amusing in Eva's eyes. "Oh, just a little bit." She said jokingly when Shane said he was a sad child. She giggled a little to show she didn't really mean it. Evangelina could've used Shane's thinking when she was younger. Then maybe she would be neater than she was today. Maybe even as neat as Shane. But personally, she could never see herself cleaning as often as Shane did. Or picking up after herself. Damn, she was a slob. But, it didn't bother her as much as it should. Which was another sad point.
Seeing Shane laugh at her acting like his mom made her crack a smile. She knew she was a loser, but she could laugh right along with people about it. Evangelina had a good sense of humor and could take a jokes. She was barely ever serious, and she liked being that way. She looked at Shane as he explained to her what happened. She could imagine the assholes harassing the girl. Ugh, some boys were such idiots. It was insane. She kissed him? Aww, that's sweet. "Eww. She kissed your nasty lips?" She said like a little 5 year old girl. Then, she put on a little smile. "Just kidding. But that's sweet. I mean it's the least she could do. You ruined your pretty little nose for her!" She joked, but put on face that made it look like she was being serious. "Such a modest man, you are." Lina said, looking down at Shane as he lay next to her. She was pretty modest herself, but never passed up an opportunity to brag about something she was really proud of. She could get a little big headed at times, but that was Evangelina for you.
She didn't doubt Shane's social life was going good. He was a really likable person. Who wouldn't wanna be this guy's friend? "That sounds good, muscle head! I'm glad." She responded with a grin. "Hey, if you ever need a study buddy, I'm here!" Eva added. She had been really focused on her schoolwork lately, and she wouldn't mind helping Shane get a little more focused too. She was always there to help. Evangelina thought for a moment. How were things going for her? Had anything really changed? "Hmm. Pretty good too, I guess. I've gotten more focused with school, still dealing with the whole Nate thing. Same bullshit." Evangelina shrugged. She had been explained to Shane the whole thing with Nathaniel. She was just becoming used to it, now. It was pretty much the norm and it sucked. She wanted to be with him, but things were in the way, and it was probably the most annoying thing she's had to deal with. Her ex was in the past, it was all about Nate now. But, that was a whole other conversation.
Evangelina gave out a sigh, as she looked around her friend's room. Then looked over at Shane with a smile. "So.. What's this Black Swan girl's name?" She said. Now was the part when she was going to tease him about girls. Just like a true sister. She loved it. Shane's love life was probably doing way better than hers, so why not talk about it instead? It worked for Evangelina. If Shane didn't want to talk about it, fine. She would ask him a few more times, then leave him alone. Lina knew he would want him to stop if he nagged her about something she didn't want to discuss. But if he did, she was all ears.
